Legislature considers phosphorus ban

The "Clean Lakes" bill (AB 3), would prohibit the display, sale, and use of lawn fertilizer containing phosphorus, with certain reasonable exceptions. This bill—introduced by Rep. Spencer Black and Rep Garey Bies—is modeled after Dane County's existing and successful county ordinance.

Sally Witz has created a series of marvelous prints, depicting sites on and around our local lakes. The profits from sale of her prints are donated to protecting our Iron River lakes.

Purpose of the association

1. Provide a forum for membership concerns that include, but are not limited to the following: Environmental Issues, Crime Prevention/Law Enforcement, Quality and cost of education within our district, and Legislative and governmental activities.

2. Gather and distribute information relating to the concerns of the membership through annual and special meetings and newsletters.

3. Provide membership representation at various governmental and civic functions as deemed necessary by: Personal attendance and written communication
